MLS Colorado 1 - 1 Los Angeles

With the playoffs in sight, the intensity was high as the Colorado Rapids drew the LA Galaxy 1-1 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Needing three points to stay alive in their playoff pursuit, the draw won't be enough to satisfy Colorado. After a quick throw in by LA in the 10th minute, Robbie Keane tried to make something happen, but ended up losing momentum. It was immediately picked up by Marcelo Sarvas who quickly shot the ball past Matt Pickens into the back of the net, giving LA an early 1-0 lead. The Rapids appeared unshaken by the Galaxy. In the 16th minute, an unguarded Hunter Freeman passed it to Jaime Castrillon. The Colombian tied it up 1-1, scoring his eighth goal of the year. The hardest hit of the night came in the 31st minute as Omar Cummings took a run toward the goal, going up against A.J. DeLaGarza. The Galaxy defender collapsed to the ground and was stretchered off the field with a left knee sprain. As the second half kicked off, the Rapids had the better of the play, taking shots and dominating, but they were unable to take the crucial lead. The Galaxy appeared content to leave the Mile High City with a 1-1 result and a valuable point.
